Sleep well for better health

Nightly sleep is critical for proper function of the brain, immune system, endocrine system, digestion, recovery from injury and restoration of health. 

 

Lack of sleep leads to poor recovery and eventually breaks the body down, resulting in needless injury or illness. 

 

Making simple but important changes to your daytime routine and bedtime habits can have a profound impact on how well you sleep, leaving you feeling mentally sharp, emotionally balanced, and full of energy all day long.
 

 

 

Get a restful night by following these tips

  • Set you sleep cycle - keep your body in sync with routine hours by going to bed and waking up at the same time every day

  • Eat smart - limit sugar and caffeine consumption before bed and avoid large meals

  • Limit light exposure before bed - keep your laptops, iPads, and phones away from the bedroom. Not only are they are a distraction, they keep your brain active when you're trying to wind down.

  • Exercise during the day - your body will want rest so that it can recover

  • Wind down before bed - put your day away and slow your mind down. Meditation is great or listen to some chill tunes.

  • Improve your sleep environment - is your bed and pillow suited to your body? Being in a comfortable position will help your body relax and settle.

Follow these tips and notice the difference when you wake up in the morning.
