Chiropractors assess, diagnose, and treat problems with the spine, joints, muscles, and nervous system.
Treatment often includes gentle spinal adjustments, soft tissue therapy, exercise advice, and ergonomic recommendations to help restore movement, reduce pain, and improve overall function.
An adjustment (or spinal manipulation) is a specific, controlled force applied to a joint to restore motion and reduce tension.
You might hear a small “click” sound — this is simply gas being released from the joint, similar to cracking your knuckles.
Yes — when provided by a qualified, registered chiropractor.
Chiropractic care is a regulated health profession under AHPRA, and all chiropractors undergo extensive university training in anatomy, neurology, and diagnosis.
Most patients experience only mild, temporary soreness following treatment.
Commonly treated issues include:
Back and neck pain
Headaches and migraines
Sciatica
Joint and arthritic pain
Postural correction
Pregnancy-related back or hip pain
Jaw Pain (TMJ)
Vertigo and dizziness
Sports and overuse injuries
Your first visit includes a detailed history, posture and movement assessment, orthopaedic and neurological testing, and sometimes X-rays or scans (if clinically required).
Your Chiropractor will then discuss findings, explain your diagnosis, and recommend an individualised treatment plan.
It depends on your condition, how long you’ve had it, and your goals. Some people notice improvement within a few visits, while others benefit from a structured care plan over several weeks. Your Chiropractor will review your progress regularly.
During your first visit, our Chiropractor will assess whether an X-Ray is required. If so, these will be bulk billed. Having said that - if you have any prior X-Rays that could help our Chiropractic make an assessment, bring them along!
Most adult new patients will require specialty full spine x-rays.
These are performed straight away on site for immediate assessment in your first appointment, saving you time and trouble.
X-rays are taken for many reasons:
Disease – We look for any evidence of severe illness that may need medical treatment (some serious illness can refer as back pain).
Trauma – Looking for any evidence of trauma, sometimes trauma you forgot to mention.
Presence of Wear and Tear – This helps with the big picture in understanding how long your problem has been hiding for and how it is effecting the rest of your spine.
Spinal Misalignments – Evidence of poorly aligned vertebra can be observed. We can use this information to help create a plan of where to start and what needs to be fixed next.
X-rays allow us to help patients better, quicker. Imagine being a builder and being asked to build a home without any plans or blueprints.
These x-rays are the secret weapon to our success.
Yes - Chiropractic care can be highly beneficial during and after pregnancy.
As the body changes to support the baby, shifts in posture and pelvic alignment can cause back pain, hip discomfort and tension. Gentle, safe techniques help relieve strain, improve mobility and support comfort throughout pregnancy.
After birth, chiropractic care assists with recovery — addressing postural stress, muscle tension and pelvic realignment caused by feeding, lifting and caring for a newborn. Our chiropractors are trained to provide tailored, gentle care that supports both pregnancy and postpartum wellbeing.
